Ms. Miranda Tabifor is a national of Cameroon and serving as the UNFPA Representative in Zimbabwe from 1 July 2023.
She has over 20 years of increasing technical, programme and managerial leadership experience with the United Nations gained in diverse cultural and political contexts in Africa. She has held several positions in UNFPA, as Officer- in -Charge in Malawi from August to October 2022, as Deputy Representative in Madagascar, covering Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles, from January 2020 to 30 June 2023, as Deputy Representative in Uganda from January 2016 to January 2020, as Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Joint Programme Coordinator/as Acting Programme Coordinator/ Head of Office in Goma, DR Congo; Acting Head of Gulu Sub-Office in Uganda and as Gender Advisor in Lesotho from 2002 to December 2015.
Prior to joining UNFPA, she served in various capacities with different UN Agencies including Office of the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for the Great Lakes Region (OSESG-GL), UN Women, UN-Habitat, UNDP, UNICEF, UNEP and United Nations Office (UNON) in Nairobi, Kenya from January 1995 to December 2015.
Miranda holds a Master of Art Degree in International Relations from the University of Nairobi; a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology/Pedagogy; Maitrise in Linguistics and Bachelor's Degree in Modern English Letters (ARTS) respectively from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon.
She is fluent in English and French. She is married and has 4 children.
