The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat) and other stakeholders are preparing for the Population Census to be conducted in April 2022. UNFPA is providing technical assistance to ZIMSTAT in the Census process. In addition to household counting, the Census will also collect data for indicators from several other national and internationally agreed development frameworks such as the Transitional Stabilisation Programme, the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the World Summit for Children. UNFPA’s partnership with the Government of Zimbabwe began in 1982 with support to the National Census.
