The 2010-11 Zimbabwe Demographic and Health Survey is a follow up to the 1998, 1994, 1999 and 2005 to 6 ZDHS surveys and provides estimates of basic demographic and health indicators. The preliminary report presents a first look at selected results. A comprehensive analysis of data will appear in the final report to be published in 2012.

The State of World's Midwifery 2011: Delivering Health, Saving Lives, provides a comprehensive analysis of midwifery services and issues in countries where the needs are greatest. The report provides information and data gathered from 58 countries in all regions of the world. Zimbabwe is one of the 58 countries that provided information. The report's anlysis confirms that the world lacks some 350 000 skilled midwives; 112 000 in the neediest 38 countries surveyed to fully meet the needs of women worldwide.

The release of the 2010 edition of the State of World Population report coincides with the 10th anniversary of UN Security Council resolution 1325, which recognizes and seeks to address the vulnerability of women and girls to violence during and after armed conflict, and the absence or low level of women’s representation in efforts to prevent war, build peace and restore devastated societies.
